London's Monthly Interfaith Ceremony
Theme: May You Dwell In The Heart
“When the bud breaks, it becomes a flower.
When the heart breaks, it becomes divine.”
- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
In taking part in life we expose ourselves to a voracious jungle of happenstance. This inevitably means that we are exposed to pain-making experiences and to heartbreak. All sorts of events cause us heartbreak - local and world events, family complexities, loss and bereavement, illness, disappointment, shock, trauma... sometimes we can think we must “do” something to fix our pain or agony or we react reflexively.
To give space to something is to allow it its right to have time and attention. In this ceremony we will simply hold life’s pain in awareness and spaciousness. We will not fix pain, we will not drive it away nor celebrate it. We will allow it to be in the honesty of what it is and we will be with that simple honesty. Perhaps through honesty there is connection...
We will come together in song, reflection, creative exploration, meditation and prayer, and, as always, you are welcome just as you are, to take part in whatever way feels right.
Led by Interfaith Ministers Rev Alison Trower & Rev Amy Firth this service will include music, prayer, reflection, silence, community connection & the beautiful Threshold Choir.
Suggested donation: £5
You are welcome to arrive from 6:45pm & we will be completed by 8:30pm with tea & treats.
