London's Monthly Interfaith Ceremony
Theme: Being in Darkness
This year I do not want / The dark to leave me. / I need its wrap/ Of silent stillness,
Its cloak / Of long lasting embrace. / Too much light / Has pulled me away
from the chamber / of gestation.
- Joyce Rupp
The dark nights are so gradually leaving us. The tunnels and uncertainties remain. What is it to sit in darkness, to really enter into its ‘wrap’, within us and around us?
In this sacred circle we will literally sit in darkness and, where and how we wish, we will speak into the darkness using a talking stick. This will be a circle held by each us, for each of us to communally and personally enter the reflection of darkness. You may sit in total silence and simply listen throughout if that is what will best serve you.
What does the darkness have to bring us, or is there anything we want to hand over to the receding darkness; with what contemplations do we begin to welcome light?
In the ceremony there will be songs from the Threshold Choir and lots of breathing space to simply be together.
Led by Interfaith Ministers Rev Alison Trower & Rev Amy Firth this service will include music, prayer, reflection, silence, community connection & the beautiful Threshold Choir.
Suggested donation: £5
You are welcome to arrive from 6:45pm & we will be completed by 8:30pm with tea & treats.
