London's Monthly Interfaith Ceremony
Theme: Body of the World
"Your body is the piece of the universe you've been given."
- Geneen Roth
Our body with all its mind-blowing intricacy is our little piece of the Universe. Our body is, in part, what gives us our sense of “me” and of “mine”, and yet it is the object that also connects us with every living thing, the whole of our solar system, and beyond. As our minds busy themselves with thoughts and plans it is easy for us to take our body and the body of the world for granted. And in our culture of upholding physical perfection it is all too easy to focus on what we feel is “wrong” about our own bodies, to even loathe parts of ourselves.
Our May ceremony will give us pause, to ceremonially thank our crucial piece of the Universe and to explore how we relate to our own body and connect with our wider body - the planet we inhabit.
Led by Interfaith Ministers Rev Alison Trower, Rev Amy Firth & Rev Christopher Marcus this service will include music, prayer, reflection, silence, community connection & the beautiful Threshold Choir.
