London's Monthly Interfaith Ceremony
Theme: Heirs to the Earth
The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.
- Dalai Lama
Some believe we are spiritual beings living a physical life. Born into a body onto a planet bursting with a life-force, we are surrounded by all kinds of physical forms from bacteria to whales! Our home is a world full of incredible wonder and diversity and it provides us with all manner of sustenance and unique experiences. It is here that we experience the present moment, inherit our ancestral roots, and help shape the future, each in our own special way.
In the height of summer, at harvest time, it feels important to gather together in sacred circle to mark and give thanks for the magnificence of this planet, to celebrate the opportunities offered us by our experiences of Earth and to hold the shifts in consciousness about how we relate to our world.
The change of the world lives inside us, therefore we are the blessed heirs to the world... and what a blessing this is, to be celebrated and marked, amidst summer abundance, by an occasion of song, prayer, thanksgiving, dance, sharing and reflection. We will bless our earth and bless ourselves as part of this natural, living organism.
Held by Interfaith Ministers Rev Alison Trower & Rev Amy Firth with the beautiful Threshold Choir.
